Alpine Hoodie Insulated Jacket

A synthetic insulated hoodie built on Toray 3DeFX+ that stays warm when wet, breathes when you're working, and packs down small.

Most insulated layers do one thing well: warm when you stand still, clammy when you move. 3DeFX+ is a 60-gram stretch insulation that keeps breathing under effort and holds its loft after being stuffed in a pack. It works as a jacket on its own from about 50°F down, and as a midlayer under the Alpha Shell when it drops toward 5°F.

Materials

Toray 3DeFX+ insulation, 60 g: a four-way stretch synthetic that insulates when damp and resists packing out. Chosen over down because it keeps working wet.

Toray AIRTASTIC face fabric: a lightweight mini-ripstop with a DWR finish. Windproof, sheds light moisture, holds up to abrasion from pack straps.
