Alpha Shell Waterproof Jacket

A waterproof, breathable shell built on Toray Dermizax that stretches with you and stays quiet when you move.

Rain, wind and sweat are the three things a shell has to handle at once. Dermizax is rated 20,000 mm waterproof and 10,000 g breathable, so it keeps weather out while letting heat escape on a climb or a long walk through a wet city. The Primeflex face fabric is soft and stretchy, so the jacket doesn't crinkle or bind across the shoulders.

Materials

Toray Dermizax: a 150 denier waterproof, breathable PU-laminate membrane from Toray, Japan. 20,000 mm hydrostatic head, 10,000 g/m²/24h breathability. Chosen because it holds those numbers after hard use, not just out of the box.

Toray Primeflex face fabric: a bi-component yarn with built-in mechanical stretch. Chosen because a shell that moves with you fits closer without restricting reach.

Toray DWR finish and Toray seam tape on every seam.

Fit and care

Regular fit over a base layer and a midlayer like the Alpine Hoodie. Machine wash cold, hang dry. Reapply DWR when water stops beading.
